Prunus Grayana
Rosaceae Prunus
From April to May, after the leaves open, it produces 6-8 cm long racemes at the ends of the branches, densely bearing numerous white five-petaled flowers. They look like countless small white flowers shaped like a glass-washing brush. The Japanese name is “Uwamizu Zakura” and it is said that the grooves were dug into the top surface of the wood, which was for divination using turtle shells.
