秋保大滝(春)

Akiu Otaki Falls

It is said that Akiu Otaki is one of the big top three water falls in Japan. A scenic breathtaking 55m long and 6m wide waterfall. Along the pathway, there is a viewpoint which will lead you to the basin of the waterfall. You may feel high levels of negative ions there. It has been featured in magazines that negative ion created near this waterfall has beneficial effects on health. It is designated as a National Scenic Beauty.
**Pathway is quite steep and slippery. Please watch your step as you get closer to the waterfall.

Banji-iwa Rock

A vertical wall of volcanic rocks stretching more than 3km in length and 150m in height offers truly incredible view of natural landscapes. Many hikers enjoy the view of autum leaves in fall season.

Mt.Daito(1,365m)

One of the 100 Famous Mountains of Tohoku, Mt.Daito stands at 1,365 meters, making it the highest peak of the Futakuchi mountain range. The elevation difference from the trailhead to the summit is 1,000 meters. It is part of the Zao National Park and is recommended for advanced hikers. There are two main routes: the front route (Tateishi-sawa Course) and the rear route (via Ooname-sawa), both offering stunning natural beauty and magnificent views.

Mt.Sanpoukura(971m)

Mt.Sanbokura, located at the entrance to Futakuchi mountain range, is known for its well-formed triangular shape and rich natural environment. The mountain offers two main trails: the Shiroyashio Course and the Bunadaira Course. These routes are suitable for intermediate to advanced hikers. At the base of the mountain, the Futakuchi Nature Trail is also available for a more accessible walk through the area.

The Sister Falls in Futakuchi Gorge(Ane Falls, Imouto Falls)

Ane Falls, standing at about 16 meters, is a rare waterfall designated as a National Natural Monument. It features a unique ‘hole waterfall’ structure, where the water flow has carved holes into the stones on the riverbed. The falls are known as the Sister Falls, consisting of Ane Falls (the ‘older sister’) and Imouto Falls (the ‘younger sister’)
